Industries
Each company says which industry it is in. The app then puts that industry's screens first: a group of its own at the top of the menu, its cards on Home, and a short list of where to start. Nothing is switched off or hidden. Every other screen stays where it was, and the API, the MCP tools and Autopilot work the same in every industry. So changing the industry is safe at any time.
Where to choose it
- When the company is set up. The setup wizard asks for it in its fourth step, Industry, before the review. Add company under Settings, Company asks for it too.
- Later. Settings, Company, the Industry panel: choose one and Save industry. Only an administrator changes it.
A company that never chose one is General: the app as it always was.
The industries
| Industry | Built | What it gives you today | Not built yet |
|---|---|---|---|
| General | Yes | Every area as it is. | |
| Hospitality | Yes | A Hotel group with the front desk, capacity and bookings, customers, invoices and price lists; Home shows who arrives, who is in house and who leaves today. See Hospitality. | |
| Professional services | Partly | Customers, quotes, subscriptions, recurring invoices, and people's time booked by the hour or day (Capacity). | Time sheets, and projects billed by the hour. |
| Wholesale and distribution | Yes | Customers, sales orders, delivery notes, products, price lists, vendors, purchase orders and the stock group first. | |
| Retail | Partly | Products, price lists, vendors, purchase orders, customer invoices and the stock group first. | A till (point of sale) and daily till takings. |
| Online shop and drop shipping | Partly | Products, customers, sales orders, invoices, vendors and purchase orders first, and Shopify under Settings: your shop connected, its products kept in step, its orders flowing in as sales orders, invoiced when sent and paid into the payment provider's balance, and suppliers who ship straight to your customer getting a purchase order for each order. | Refunds, and payouts with their fees reconciled. |
| Manufacturing | Planned | Products, vendors, purchase orders, sales orders and the stock group first. | Bills of materials, production orders and production costing. |
An industry that is not fully built says so where it is chosen ("Partly built", "Coming").
For integrators
A company's industry is on GET /v1/entities and is set with POST /v1/setup, POST /v1/setup/companies, POST /v1/entities or PATCH /v1/entities/{entity} (audited as
entity.update). GET /v1/industries lists the industries with how far each is built and the
feature modules that serve it. A feature module names the industries it serves in its manifest
(industries), and its screens then come first in a company of that industry.
